See the difference LightSite makes

Compare the data and requests needed to retrieve your website’s content.

How this test works

Same pages, same rules

We read robots.txt and your sitemap, pick up to 5 pages with a fixed hash, and fetch them with one user agent, timeout and budget. If your site has a LightSite layer, the same pages are fetched there.

What counts

A page is retrieved when it returns HTTP 200, is not a challenge page, and has at least 80 words of main text. A LightSite page counts only when it declares the original page as its source.

What it does not show

It does not run JavaScript, is not a real provider crawler, and does not measure rankings or citations.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real crawler from ChatGPT or Google?

No. We send requests from our own servers with a declared user agent. It shows what a crawler receives, not what any provider actually crawled.

What does data retrieved mean?

The decoded bytes of every response we read, including robots.txt and sitemaps. Transfer size on the wire can be smaller when a server compresses.

Is my report public?

No. Reports open only with a private link that expires after 30 days, and they are never indexed.
